Service Area

British Standards

All Fire Extinguisher Serviceing is carried out to the requirements of the new BS5306:3:2009 and refilled, when required, to BS6643 pt. 1 and all future ammendments. Extinguishers are supplied and fitted in accordance with the requirements of BS 5306:8.

Commisioning Service

The new BS5306:3:2009 now requires that all new fire extinguishers have a Commisioning Service at the point of delivery. This means that it must be tested at the point where it is to be used. It cannot be serviced at a remote location and then delivered to the customer for them to position and install. It assures the end user that the extinguisher is fit for purpose before it is placed in service.

Basic Service

The Basic Service is carried out at your premises at a time convinient to you. The cost includes all consumable spares that need to be replaced when servicing to BS5306:3:2003. Every extinguisher must have a Basic Service at least annualy.

5 Year Extended Services

Water, Foam and Powder Extinguishers require to be discharge tested every 5 years and refilled with new extinguishing mediums. The Extended Service is in addition to the Basic Service and includes a discharge test, valve service/overhaul, refill with new extinguishing medium and repressureising. This may be carried out by replacing the unit with a service exchange appliance that is kitemarked to BS EN3:1996. The discharge test can be used to provide training for staff at no cost to you.

10 Year Overhaul Service

CO2 Extinguishers require to be Discharge Tested and Overhauled every 10 years. Overhauls are in addition to the Basic Service and include hydraulic test, repaint, refill and a new valve fitted. Overhauls will be carried out by service exchange and replaced with an appliance already tested or new, kitemarked to BSEN3:1996. A new (2kg) frost free horn or (5kg) hose and horn assembly will be fitted. The discharge test can be used to provide training for staff at no cost to you.
